Donald Austin Sellers was born the son of William Lee Sellers and Emma Eleanor (VanSickle) Sellers on November 5, 1928 in Sharp County, Arkansas, and departed this life on June 11, 2015, in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 86 years.

He was united in marriage on February 2, 1959 in Sharp County, Arkansas, to Tyma Josephine Clark.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Tyma Sellers of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one daughter, Patsy Lockley of Mammoth Spring; two sons, Donald A. Sellers, Jr. and wife, Connie of Hardy, Arkansas, and Arthur Lee Sellers and wife, Debi of Hardy; four grandchildren, Jessica Sellers, Katie Sellers, Chris Brunson and wife, Liberty, and Wesley Lockley and wife Lauren; four great grandchildren, Tyma, Patricia, Linley, and Shay; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Sellers; four brothers, Morris L. Sellers, Clifford R. Sellers, William H. Sellers and an infant brother; and two sisters, Ethel Graham and Alma Bell.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. Later, he was a farmer and worked as a clerk for the United States Post Office at Hardy, Arkansas, for more than thirty years.

He was a Christian, and the oldest member of the Spring River Baptist Church near Hardy.

He was graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, a 32nd degree member of the Wilson Masonic Lodge #432 at Hardy, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Hardy, Lion’s Club at Highland, Arkansas, and the American Postal Workers Union.

Donald was a gentle man who enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with friends and neighbors. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. He will truly be missed by all.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sellers will be Sunday, June 14, 2015, at 3:00 PM at the Spring River Baptist Church near Hardy, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, June 14th at the Spring River Baptist Church from 2:00 PM until the service starts at 3:00.

Burial will be in the Bronaugh Cemetery near Hardy, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Sellers’ memory to the Bronaugh Cemetery, and may be left at the funeral home in Thayer.

    Don was an amazing gentleman and friend. He will be surely be missed by all who new him. Our prayers and thoughts will be with the family as the mourn his death. Our sincere hope is that they will continue to be the strong family that there are and although they will be no replacing Don our hope is that that will draw on one another’s strength to handle the future.

    Always likes Don. He was a very nice man. Miss seeing him at the post office.
