Funeral services for Donald Ray Wells, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Inc., West Plains, with Brian Schick officiating.
He was born the son of the late George Allen Wells and Beaulah Murray Wells, on May 23, 1926 in Los Angeles, California and died September 1, 2013 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage July 11, 1943 in Pasadena, California to Lorraine Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Campbell Wells, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; three children, Michael Wells, Bloomington, California, Ruth Anne Wells-Rieger, West Plains, Missouri, and Jonathan Lee Wells, Strafford, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Donna, Kathy, Sean, Lacey, Travis, Tracey, Austin, Dwayne, and Amy; sixteen great grandchildren, Marina, Alisha, Shawny, Shane, April, Bridget, Jessi, Leslie, Cody, Justin, Joey, Benjamin, Kaleb, and six great great grandchildren, Bladen, Edward, Zanina, Autumn, Blaine, and Lily; five sisters-in-law, Ruth Wells, West Plains, Missouri, Bea Wells, Monrovia, California, Edith Wells, Fontana, California, Eileen Blacksher, West Plains, Missouri and Lola Stowe, Norfolk, Virginia; one brother-in-law, George Turner, Pasadena, California.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Everett Wells, Charles Wells, George Wells, and Lucille Goodman, and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Christian.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
