Clay Lowther was born the son of Lawrence Dean Lowther and June (Mefford) Lowther on September 1, 1961 in West Plains, Missouri, and departed this life August 29, 2013 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 51 years.

He was united in marriage on September 6, 1981 in Thayer, Missouri, to Jacalyn Annette James.

He is survived by his wife, Jacalyn Lowther of the home in Thayer, Missouri; two sons, Matthew Wayne Lowther and Michael James Lowther, both of Ozark, Missouri; two daughters, Amy Elizabeth Lowther of Ozark, Missouri, and Melissa Ann Lowther of Springfield, Missouri; one grand-daughter, Hadley Sanders; his father, Lawrence Lowther and wife, Cathy of Thayer, Missouri; his mother, June Emery of Thayer, Missouri; one brother, Tracy Lowther and wife, Shawnee of Thayer, Missouri; nieces and nephews; other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Dean Lowther; and step-dad, Mike Emery.

Clay worked as a Service Technician for the telephone company for many years. He loved hunting and fishing, and very much enjoyed working the land.

He was a believer in the Christian faith, giving his heart to the Lord twelve years before his passing. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son. He will truly be missed by all.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lowther will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Brother Randall James officiating and burial in the Thayer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer on Friday, August 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St.Judes Childrens Research Hospital, and may be left at the funeral home.

    Jacalyn and family. I’m so very sorry for your loss! I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I won’t be able to come home for Clay’s visitation or service but I will be thinking and praying for you all. Love you Clay…..RIP my dear friend.

    Lawrence and family, just so sorry about Clay. You have my deepest sympathy at this really hard time. You are being held close to a lot of peoples hearts and minds as I have known your family most of my life.

    Clay was such A Good Man with A Big Heart, the sweetest and the Happiest Man everyone love him so much , all the family of Clay were so kind to other and I love them so much, My Heart and Prayers go out to all of them he will be miss so much , His wave and smile and the kindness he have that we all enjoy Clay so much We love you and your family always .
