Elsie M. Beck, 89, passed away August 5, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri.
Graveside services for Elsie M. Beck will be Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Huddleston Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
Funeral services for Vida Hall, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2019, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Buford Skaggs and Dora Johnson Skaggs, on August 30, 1934 in Howell County, Missouri and died July 26, 2019 in West Plains, Missouri.
She was united in marriage September 8, 1951 in Salem, Arkansas to Lon Judd, who preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage in Howell County, Missouri to Duane Hall, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by six children, Calvin Judd and wife Karen; Lonnie Judd and wife Nita; Sharon Bramwell and husband, Gregg; Donald Judd; Debbie Phenix; Danny Hall; two sisters, Catherine Bray and Karen Henry and two brothers, Kenneth Skaggs and John Skaggs and wife Gay; son-in-law, Tom Clack; brother-in-law, Tom Wiles; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, Lon Judd and Duane Hall; one daughter, Barbara Clack; one sister Gayle Wiles and one brother, Jessie Joe Skaggs.
She attended the Genesis Church in West Plains. She loved antique cars and going to car shows, quilting, and watching the Sunday morning preachers on television. She was a big fan of Larry’s Country Diner on tv.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and can be left at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Eva Burgess, daughter of the late Reverend Jesse Dunkin and Flo Cockman Dunkin was born August 1, 1932 in Myrtle, Missouri and went to be with her savior July 11, 2019 at Timberlake Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was married to Eldon Burgess, June 5, 1954 at West Plains, Missouri, who preceded her in death February 14, 2012.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law that she always called her sisters, Jane Stoneman, Myrna Clark, Betty Rhodes, Mary Arnote, and Judy Hanshaw. Her special cousins, Larry, Carol, Della, and Ron; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Eldon Burgess; parents, Reverend Jesse and Flo Dunkin and in-laws, Loyd and Dorothy Burgess.
Eva was a sweet, caring person. She retired from Continentall Insurance in Overlank Park, Kansas. For many years she did alterations and made craft items for others. She made many dolls and pillows for friends and family.
Funeral services for Eva Burgess will Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Larry Cockman officiating.

Glessner Delores Lamons Hodges, daughter of the late Antone Lamons and Goldie Logsdon Wadley was born August 4, 1917 in Howell County, Missouri and departed this life July 5, 2019 at Brookehaven Healthcare in West Plains.
She was united in marriage December 29, 1932 at West Plains, Missouri to Rufus Henry Hodges who preceded her in death in 1979. In 2006 she married Howard Keele, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children Hank (Nancy) Hodges of Clinton, Kansas; Darrell Hodges of Clinton, Kansas; J.D. Hodges (Carolyn) of Salem, Arkansas; Dorilleen Vaughn, Salem, Arkansas; Delores (Ray) McKinney, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren, and twenty-five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; two brothers, Shorty and Earl; two sisters, Nadine and Ruby; two sons Boyd and Dean, and one grandson Lonnie.
Glessner was a homemaker who loved taking care of her flowers, square dancing, jig dancing, and two stepping. She was saved and baptized when she was a teenager. She will be greatly missed by her family and her Brookhaven Healthcare family.

Ricky Webb, 66, West Plains, Missouri passed away June 25, 2019 at his home in West Plains, Missouri.
He was born the son of the late John Webb and Betty Phillips Webb, on January 17, 1953 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage January 19, 1973 in West Plains, Missouri to Patty Anstine.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Anstine Webb, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; two daughters, Tanya Webb, West Plains and Tawny Roberts, West Plains; one brother, John D. Webb, Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Fonda Hicks, Mountain Grove, Missouri; three grandchildren, Hope, Faith, and Chance Roberts, all of West Plains.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tracy Webb, and one sister, Brenda Andrews.
He served in the United States Army for three years. He was a loving son, wonderful husband, brother, father, and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Julia Austin, daughter of Ersel and Berma Clinkingbeard of Ava, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2019, in West Plains, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Austin, her parents and sister Eleanor.
Julia is survived by her daughter Deborah Preston Nesbitt (Bill Nesbitt), grandsons James Christopher Preston and Austin Jay Preston. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Bud and Lavelle Clinkingbeard and their son Andrew.
Julia was a life-long educator starting in a one-room school at age 19. She taught in the Springfield Public Schools, and was West Plain’s first elementary school physical education teacher and first elementary school counselor. After retirement, Julia continued to share her knowledge and many skills with friends and family until shortly before her death. The family would like to thank Lindel Kinder for the many years of love and care that she gave to Julia.
In lieu of flowers or funeral services, the family requests that Julia be honored by contributions to the Gene and Julia Austin Grizzly Basketball Endowment Scholarship. He was born the son of the late Ocea Simmons and Nancy Johnson Simmons, on April 6, 1940 in Alton, Missouri and died June 5, 2019 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage March 18, 1962 in Alton, Missouri to Nora Pauline Pierce, who preceded him in death January 27, 2019.
He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Ellen Yaqoob and husband Javad, Elmont, New York; Gwen Simmons, Hollister, Missouri, and Kathryn Phillips and husband Luther, Grapevine, Texas; one brother, Larry Simmons and wife Daisy, Alton, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Joan Simmons, Alton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Sereena, Taniya, Caitlin, and Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and six siblings, Robert Simmons, Roscoe Simmons, Mary Wainscott, Rita Simmons, and 2 infant siblings.
He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of West Plains, Missouri. He served in the military with the United States Army. He worked as a butcher for many years for Ramey’s, Price Chopper, and other surrounding grocery stores. He was also on the school board at Richards School for fifteen years.
