James Henry Herbold, son of the late Edward Herbold and Mary Ellen Woods Herbold, was born October 11, 1951 in Thayer, Missouri and departed this life on Nov 9, 2019 in Shelby Township, Michigan at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Ellen Rucker and her husband, Jerry, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and two brothers, August Herbold and his wife, Dorothy, of Thayer, Missouri, and John Herbold and his wife, Penny, of Jacksonville, Arkansas. A niece Martha Washam and husband Mike, two nephews John Herbold Jr and wife Kim, and Jason Herbold and wife Micki, along with many great-nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Herbold and Ellen Herbold.
He was a graduate of Thayer High School and University of Missouri, Rolla. He was a dedicated employee of General Motors as a design engineer for around 35 years. After retirement from General Motors, he stayed in Michigan. His hobbies included Corvettes and classic cars, car shows, and model car clubs.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thayer with Father Shoby officiating. The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer on Friday evening, November 22nd from 6-8 PM. Interment will be in Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
David Todd, son of the late Jerome Todd and Helen Farmer Todd, was born June 1, 1953 in Wichita and died November 18, 2019 in Thayer, Mo at the age of 66 years.
He was united in marriage January 24, 1993 in Anderson, Missouri to Joyce Holloway.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Holloway Todd, of the home, Thayer, Missouri; five children, Charlotte Turpin and husband Robert of Mansfield, Missouri, Jean Hollingsworth of Ava, Missouri, Wanda Freeman of Salem, Arkansas, Lisa Love of Wichita, Kansas area and David Dean Todd of Wichita, Kansas area; one sister, Teresa Moser and husband Chuck of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Tiffany, Nicole, Eric, Joyce Lynn, Kimberly and Anthony; six great grandchildren, Patrick, Charlotte, Gracelinn, Michael, Dani Nicole and Jessie; two nephews, Jeffery Todd and Johnathan Moser.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome Todd and Helen Farmer Todd; two brothers, Larry Todd and Dean Todd; one sister, Rosemary Burton; one great grandson Thomas James Bohannon.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 20, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri
Visitation will be before the service from 12:00 noon until service time.
Burial will be in Norman Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Thayer, Missouri
Funeral Services for Augusta Ellen Linson 97, Thayer, Missouri, will be 2:00pm Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, Thayer with Bro Erman Croney officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Thayer.
She was born the daughter of the Charles Lee Robinson and Mary Niebur Robinson, on March 24, 1922 in Kansas and died November 10, 2019 in Thayer, Missouri.
She was united in marriage September 4, 1950 in Oregon County, Missouri to Amos Glenn Sloan, who preceded her in death in 1978. She was united in marriage August 6, 1983 in Thayer, Missouri to Bill Linson, who preceded her in death July 8, 2006.
She is survived by her daughter Ella Sloan and husband Herman of West Plains, Missouri; one sister, Barbara Gray of Heber Springs, Arkansas; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lee and Mary Robinson; husband, Amos Glenn Sloan; husband Bill Linson; three brothers, Louis Robinson, Richard Robinson, George Wendell Robinson; and one sister, Betty Lou Robinson.
She loved to sew, crochet, knit and embroider. She enjoyed making baby clothes and accessories and giving them to relatives and friends. She made pillow dolls, baby receiving blankets and quilts. It was said that she would embroider anything that didn’t move away from her. She made her living cleaning houses. She loved to have family gatherings at her house for the holidays. She was a life-long member of Thayer Assembly of God.
Family visitation will be 1pm-2pm Thursday prior to the service.

Funeral Services for David Lee Ivey, 78, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, will be 11:00am Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the Graveside, Riverside Cemetery with the Bro Brad Pierce officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Thayer.
He was born the son of Etta Lee Ivey, on September 21, 1941 died November 10, 2019 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
He was united in marriage August 1, 1964 in Thayer, Missouri to Nilene Jones.
He is survived by one son, Dale Ivey and wife Jane of Glencoe, Arkansas; one daughter, Shelia Godwin and husband Stephen of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Seth Godwin and wife Sally of Mammoth Spring, Sagen Godwin of Mammoth Spring, Terra Marie Godwin of Mammoth Spring, and Cody Tharp and wife Kriston of Salem, Arkansas; special niece, Carol Johnson and family of Republic, Missouri and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Etta Nickels; his wife, Nilene Ivey; one sister, Carolyn June Todd; one brother, James “Jimmy” Nickels; one infant brother Donald Ray Nickels and his very special grandmother, Henretta Holloway.
David spent his early life living a simple life on the farm with his beloved grama Henretta Holloway in Thayer, Missouri. He was a Thayer Graduate of 1960. He and his wife moved to and lived in Kansas City the first few years of their marriage where he worked for General Motors Co. They move back home when they had their son Dale in 1966 where they remained. He loved to fish and hunt which he did often with his kids and grandkids. He was a hard worker spending most of his working days in local factories and was a truck driver for Wilcox Mail. He will be remembered for joking and always making people laugh and listening to Cardinals Baseball and other ballgames. He had a big heart especially when it came to his wife, kids and grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his family and by the community for which he lived.

She was born the daughter of the Jerry Todd and Janice Bowers Todd, on July 5, 1971 in West Plains and died November 7, 2019 in Koshkonong, Mo.
She was united in marriage to Sammy Edwards in Alton, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Sammy Edwards, of the home, Thayer, Missouri who has worked as a custodian at the Thayer School System for four years; four children, Alisha Reid of Kansas City, Kansas, Kayla Edwards of Thayer, Missouri, Samantha Edwards of Thayer, Missouri and Crystal Edwards of Thayer, Missouri; one sister, Kimberly Carr and husband Darren and daughter Hannah of Thayer, Missouri
She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry Todd and Janice Bowers Todd.
She enjoyed sewing, crafts and loved her animals. Her family was very important to her and she cherished each moment spent with them. Carolyn was currently attending Missouri State University West Plains Nursing Program. She was a Neurodiagnostic Technologist at Ozarks Medical Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thayer, Missouri
Visitation will be 1pm-2pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Services for Geneva Baker Newsom, 100, Ash Flat, Arkansas, will be 3:00pm Friday, November 8, 2019, at the New Hope Baptist Church under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Thayer.
She was born the daughter of George Smith and Effie James Smith, on January 6, 1919 in Hardy, Arkansas and died November 6, 2019 in Ash Flat, Arkansas.
She was united in marriage August 2, 1941 in Salem, Arkansas to Homer Baker.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, great and great-great nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Effie Smith; her husband, Homer Baker; five siblings, Marie Luker, Laverne Davenport, James H. Smith, George W. Smith and Howard Smith
She loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She had the prettiest garden around. She was a wonderful cook. She loved playing games with family and friends such as Dominos, Connect Four and Yahtzee. She was an active and devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Family visitation will be at the New Hope Baptist Church from 2:00pm until service time at 3:00pm.
Burial will be in Baker Cemetery near Hardy, Arkansas.

She was born the daughter of the late Adolf Ostrom and Rose Doris Wagner Ostrom, on November 13, 1925 in Presho, South Dakota and died November 6, 2019 in Thayer, Missouri.
She was united in marriage June 30, 1946 in West Plains, Missouri to Charles C. Woods.
She is survived by two children, Phyllis Ballard and husband, Ronald, of Alton, Missouri, Jerry Woods and wife Jeanie, of Abilene, Texas; one daughter in law, Carol Woods, of Alton, Missouri; one sister, Linda Holman of Trumann, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Rose Ostrom; two sons, Leslie Woods and Dale Woods; two sisters, Vida Ostrom and Betty Stark; two brothers, Robert Ostrom and William Ostrom and three grandchildren.
She was a farmer’s wife and labored hours on end at her chores at the family farm which she loved. Many people were the recipient of her cards which she sent with the same love. She was an avid rock collector and enjoyed the BB volunteer fire department exercise group. She was a member of the Riverton Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The body will lie in state starting Friday.
Burial will be in Lance Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., Thayer.

He was born the son of the late Omer Hayden Barnes and Viola Brawley Barnes, on July 5, 1933 in Winona, Missouri and died November 3, 2019 in Thayer, Mo.
He was united in marriage November 3, 1955 in New Hampshire to Barbara.
He is survived by two children, Todd Barnes of Mint Hill, North Carolina and Lisa Steins of Montgomery, Massachusetts; one brother Othel “Barney” Barnes of Thayer, Missouri; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Barnes; his parents, Omer Hayden Barnes and Viola Brawley Barnes; one brother, Raymond Lynn Barnes
He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan. He was a pipefitter for many years and later owned and operated a farm. He was a member of the Thayer Freewill Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions mat be made to the American Diabetes Association
