Carolyn Sue Butler was born in Caldwell, Kansas, the daughter of Delbert Bowles and Cora Radabaugh, on December 10, 1953, and left this world at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 12, 2022, at the age of 68 years.

She was united in marriage on December 5, 2017, in Alton, Missouri, to Lester Ray Butler.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Tracy Koch and Melody Mathews; eight grandchildren, Chase Street, Geoffrey Mohl, Kerztyn Samples, Jeffery Samples, Dalton Samples, Austin Ryan, Cora Ryan, and Briar Costello; four great grandchildren; beloved friends, Jen Holman and Bruce Price; other relatives; and a great many friends.

She graduated in 2010 from Herzing University with honors with a degree in medical billing and coding. Prior to this she worked hard as a cook, supervisor, and production operator. She was an avid bike rider, willing to “skin her knee” for that rush. She also loved her three fur babies very much, Faith, Sophie, and Tiny Boy. She loved to read a great many books by many different authors, enjoying their stories while drinking hot coffee in the mornings.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Cora Bowles; husband, Lester Butler; one daughter, Latreasa Ryan; and one son, David Ryan.

Funeral services for Carolyn Sue Butler will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Charles Cochran officiating.

Interment will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
