Bryan Logan Tate was born the son of George Tate and Laurie Auer Sawyer on March 15, 1993 in Commerce, Georgia and departed this life on September 28, 2019 in Hannibal, Missouri at the age of 26 years.
He was united in marriage to his High School sweetheart, Angela Mustion, on June 4, 2016 in Thayer, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Angela Tate of Thayer, Missouri; his parents, George and Jill Tate of Thayer, Missouri and Laurie and Danny Sawyer of Sylvania, Alabama; three brothers, Ryan Tate of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Brandon and Arthur Tate, both of Thayer, Missouri; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Barbara Mustion of Thayer, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Bernard and Charlene Auer of Atlanta, Georgia; paternal grandparents, Gary and Irene Evans of Lawrenceville, Georgia; several aunts and uncles; cousins; other relatives and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Dorothy Tate; one aunt, Dianne Kimsey; and great grandparents, Earl and Sophie Cloutier.
Bryan was a Thayer High School football coach and Junior High Social Studies teacher. He was dearly loved and respected by his students and co-workers. He enjoyed the profession he chose and even though he had no children of his own, he felt that his students were his family and continuously took pride in their achievements. Three years ago, Bryan founded the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was very excited to help his students grow in their faith and in their athletic abilities. He was always excited for football and baseball seasons to begin.
When he wasn’t coaching or teaching, he loved going hunting during deer and turkey season and was an avid fisherman. He was also of the Baptist faith.
Bryan will be remembered as deeply devoted to his family, friends, students, co-workers and the community in which he lived. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Thayer.

Coach Bryan Tate was an amazing big man with an even bigger heart. He made such an impact on all who knew and loved him. He was my daughter Cara’s favorite teacher, he was her hero, he was a guiding light at school for her when high school was the hardest. She told me mom school will never be the same without him, he always told me suck it up buttercup when i needed to hear it the most, he wasn’t just my teacher he was family. I feel blessed that she had such an amazing teacher in her life, one that left a mark on her heart forever. Fly high Mr. Tate and thank you for being such a positive roll model and friend to my daughter, you will be greatly missed.

Barbie, Sorry to here about your son in-law. Sorry that you and your family have to go through this . I have to believe with all my heart when some one goes so young that god has a plan for this person and there is a reason what every it may be but I Know that god has a propose and we have to trust in that purpose. I know that this don’t help much but I know that god has your back and he is watching over you and your family. Tell Anglia that we are thinking of you all and I will make sure that you are put on our pray list at church.

We are deeply saddened by Brian’s passing. Brian certainly had an enormously positive impact on his community, high school and students. We wish to extend condolences to his wife and family with the hope that they will find comfort and peace in treasured memories of Brian and his inspiring legacy.
