  Bobby Joe Vandiver, 64 of Koshkonong, Missouri passed away January 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Bobby Joe was born January 21, 1958, in Thayer, Missouri to Belvin “Bob” and Betty (Wilson) Vandiver.

  Bobby Joe married the love of his life Margie Garrett on May 2, 1980, in Koshkonong, Missouri. Within this union they had three children.

  Bobby Joe was a vivid outdoors man. He loved going hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Occasionally he would go to the West Plains Speedway racetrack with his brothers and go riding around with them on one of their many driving adventures. There was never a dull moment around him at all, he was full of energy and was a little bit on the ornery side. He loved teasing and joking around with everyone.

  He was a wonderful husband, father and papa. He loved his family and he cherished every minute he had with them. Some will say he was the best papa ever.  He attended the Freewill Baptist church in Koshkonong, Missouri.

  He is survived by his wife Margie; one son Joey, wife Keena and one daughter Amber Harlan, husband Adam; six grandkids Jasmyn, Kynslee, Kolt, Kansys, Channing and arriving soon Axel Joe; two brothers Johnnie, wife Tammy, and Jim, wife Anna; two sisters Betty Neal and Paula Nelson, husband Rodney; along with numerous family and friends

  He is preceded in death by one infant son Bradley Joe; his parents, one infant sister; his mother-n-law Virginia; one brother-n-law Bernard Neal.

Funeral services  will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.

 

Interment will be on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Union Hill Cemetery, in Brandsville, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

    It was sad to hear of Bobby’s passing but comforted that he had a good life. That’s what we all strive for. My sympathy to the family.
