Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Havens, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with Norman Carte and John Colbert officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Robert Colbert and Jemima Dodson Colbert, on January 18, 1931 in St. Joe, Arkansas and died February 20, 2015 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage April 24, 1948 in Burnham, Missouri to Howard R. Jack Havens, who preceded her in death January 8, 1988.

She is survived by nine children, Kay O’Neal and husband, Scott, West Plains, Dee Rothermich and husband, Robert, Pomona, Missouri, Clinton Havens and wife, Mary Ellen, Ozark, Missouri, Joann Brower and husband, Doug, Pomona, Missouri, Steve Havens and wife, Becky, West Plains, Missouri, Randy Havens and wife, Denise, Versailles, Missouri, Cindy Hall and husband, Ted, Pomona, Missouri, Wanda Holmes and husband,David, Hartsfield, Mississippi, and Bob Havens and wife, Carol, West Plains; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; eight siblings, Geneva Flood, Carol Stroud, Claudette Smith, Alice Perlock, Patricia Collins, Robert Hall Colbert, Dwight Colbert, and Bill Colbert, and one granddaughter, Athena Rae Holland.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of West Plains. She loved to work with crafts and all the activities at Brooke Haven Healthcare, where she was a resident. She loved to work crossword puzzles, listen to gospel music, and loved to sing herself. She lead the song service at the nursing home on Sunday mornings. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, and friend to many, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mackey Cemetery, and can be left at Carter Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Mackey Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    Sorry to hear about your mom. She was a very sweet lady and will be missed by one and all. She is now with the ones wholoved her and went before her. I will be praying for each of you. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

    I am part of a group that comes to Brookehaven from Grand Gulf Shiloh Church. Bobbie has been such an inspiration to me. Her cheerful disposition and great faith were so special. I will never forget her! My sympathy to the family. You were blessed.
