Billie Gene Rader was born the son of Harve Rader and Ruby (Bennett) Rader on September 17, 1931, in Willow Springs, Missouri and departed this life October 12, 2013, at the Veterans Center in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years.

He was united in marriage on March 13, 1952, in Salem, Arkansas to Genevia Faye Price, who preceded him in death on June 27, 2008.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Gould of Guthrie, Oklahoma; one son, Billie G. Rader, Jr. of Thayer, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Shawna, Angel Marie, Jennifer, Antonia, Billie III, Adam, Travis, Little Jack, and Ashley; several great grandchildren; one brother, Oscar Rader of Willow Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Judy Hammond and Sue Stuart, both of Willow Springs, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harve and Ruby Rader; his wife, Faye Rader; one son, Jack G. Rader; one son-in-law, Donnie Gould; two brothers, Elwood and Tom; and one sister, Lola Mae.

Mr. Rader was a Veteran, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. He received numerous awards, including the Bronze Star.

He was a truck driver, transporting freight throughout the United States. He loved to fish, even going on a fishing trip in his scooter, on the Veterans Center property, within the last two weeks of his life. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends, but especially loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

He was a Christian and will be remembered as a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend. He will truly be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be Friday, October 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Burial will be in the Koshkonong Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
