Barbara Cochran

Barbara (Youngman) Cochran was born the daughter of George Albert Youngman and Delores (Sciberras) Youngman on January 24, 1935 in Senglea, Malta, and departed this life on March 7, 2014, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 79 years.

She was united in marriage on July 19, 1958 at Norwich, England, to Archie Ray Cochran, who preceded her in death on July 7, 1979.

She is survived by her four children, Debbie Lee Miller and husband, Steven of Cabot, Arkansas, Kimberly Sue Hart and husband, Jim of Thayer, Missouri, George Ray Cochran and wife, Sheron of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Pamela Marie Busch and husband, Danny of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren, Justin Roldan of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Noah Roldan and wife, Courtney of Cabot, Arkansas, Amy Torres of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jessica Parker and husband, Justin of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Amy Scott and husband, Sam of Batesville, Arkansas, James Hart of Tallahassee, Florida, Joseph Hart of Springfield, Missouri, Brandon Couchman and wife, Jessica of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Nicole Cochran of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Shaina Turner and husband, Travis of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Daniel Busch and wife, Heather of Salem, Arkansas, and Kylee Leath and husband, Andrew of Jonesboro, Arkansas; nineteen great grandchildren; one sister, Carrie Dent and husband, Freddie of England; several nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Ray; one sister, Gladys Woodcock; and one brother, Richard Brekkon.

Barbara was an avid shopper of clothes, shoes and plants. She was a constant knitter, never sitting still. Ladies at aerobics, nor Sweetie, could keep up with her.

She was a member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ with faith in the promises of Jesus, her Saviour.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister-in-law and nana, as well as, a dear friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cochran will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer with Randy Ward and Lee Moses officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Thayer on Monday, March 10th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory, may be made to CHILDREN’S HOMES INC., 5515 Walcott Rd., Paragould, AR  72450-3319  or, to the Merchant Seamen Wooly Cap Project at FMI, P.O. Box 6247, Norfork, VA  23508.  Contributions may be sent by mail or  left at the funeral home in Thayer.

    I Just learned of this.. My name is Shanna and I am Sweetie’s Groomer in Thayer. I have known Your mom and “brother” for years! I am so so saddened to hear this news. I absolutely LOVED Miss Barbara! She always had big smiles and laughter for me over the last 6 years! I am going to miss her greatly.
