Kendall Patterson

Kendall Clayton Patterson was born the son of Hulan and Louise Clayton Patterson on November 11, 1953, in Doniphan, Missouri, and departed this life January 30, 2015, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 61 years.
He was united in marriage on February 17, 1982, at Alton, Missouri, to Lavonda Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Lavonda Roberts Patterson of the home in Hohenwald, Tennessee; one daughter, Dr. Heather Rupe and husband, Russell and two grandsons, Ryan and Carson Rupe, all of Franklin, Tennessee; his mother, Louise Patterson of Myrtle, Missouri; two sisters, Becky Redus and husband, Lane of Doniphan, Missouri and Kim Cox and husband, Joe of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; his mother-in-law, Susie Roberts and brother-in-law, Junior Roberts, both of Couch, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and many life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hulan Patterson, one brother, Keith Patterson; two sisters, Gayla Jo and Karen Elaine Patterson, and father-in-law, Bob Roberts.
Kendall was a graduate of Couch High School with the class of 1971. After graduation, he entered the workforce with his first job being a teller at the Bank of Thayer. A few years later, he began his career with General Motors, retiring after thirty years of service. Kendall was currently working with his cousin, Tom McDonald, as a technician for Lewisburg Plumbing and Heating, which he enjoyed very much.
Kendall was an avid outdoorsman and was the happiest when he was working on his farm with the tractor or enjoying a horseback ride. He was a self-taught carpenter, excellent in woodworking and a master builder. He harvested the timber from his farm, sawed his own lumber, and built his and Cookie’s dream home out of cedar.
Kendall was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend, always fulfilling the needs of others with a giving heart.
He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home chapel Wednesday, February 4th from 1:00 PM until service time.
Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
