Anna Christene Pauli was born the daughter of Leamon Cordey Frey and Martha Lee Greer on September 28, 1927, at Alton, Missouri and departed this life on January 25, 2023, at her home in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
She was united in marriage on June 3, 1945, in Garfield, Missouri to John Lee Pauli and they were happily married for seventy-four and half years. While living on the farm for 58 years, she was a good wife and helpmeet, using her abilities to cook, care and sew for her family. Christene worked as a chiropractic assistant for Dr. T.J. Stickel, Dr. Thomas Dovell and Dr. Keith. Upon retiring, she took up needlework, making quilts, baby quilts and tea towels. Her other interests were painting pictures on canvas and enjoying all of her grandkids.
She loved gospel music and as a young girl sang with her sister, Jean while playing Guitar on the radio in Oklahoma. Later she traveled with John singing with her great alto voice in a quartet on weekends.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Bradshaw (Doyle) of West Plains, Missouri and Leanna Johnson (Freddie Darrell) of Thayer, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Paul Bradshaw (Shelly) of West Plains, Missouri, Steven Bradshaw (Brooke) of Independence, Missouri, Bradley Guy (Rhaquinda) of Mountain View, Missouri, Addison Guy (Sara) of Couch, Missouri, Angela Klem (Jeff) of Basehor, Kansas, Darrell Johnson (Lori) of DeSoto, Kansas and Dixie Reddish (Edmund) of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, two sisters Jewelene Grooms and Mary Jane Honeycutt of Thayer, Missouri; one brother Billy Frey (Linda) of St. Charles, Missouri; special friend Diane, numerous relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents; her in-laws; one brother; one brother in-law; two sister’s in-law; one nephew and one granddaughter.
Her servants heart was shown always to her family, friends, neighbors through all she accomplished. She leaves a lasting legacy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.
Interment will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in Pleasant Hill/Ary Town Cemetery, Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
