Barbara Prewitt, 90, West Plains, Missouri died October 21, 2020 at Brooke Haven Healthcare, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Ernest L. Kimball and Laura Gregory Kimball, on March 19, 1930 in Auburn, Massachusetts.
She was united in marriage May 4, 1947 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina to William Prewitt.
She is survived by her husband, William Prewitt, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; three children, John Prewitt and wife Martha, Quitman, Arkansas, Robert Prewitt, girlfriend, Lourdes, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and George Prewitt and wife Sue, West Plains, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dorothy Forbes, and four siblings, Dorothy Launier, Ruthie Kimball, Ernest L. Kimball, and Shirley Stevens.
She was a licensed practical nurse for several years before her retirement. She loved to golf with her husband, having won several matches together. She loved to cook and bake. She was known as the “Cookie Lady” for several years. She would bake for friends and people in her community.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.

I worked for several years with Barbara as fellow LPNs.
She had a big caring heart.

We made lots of memories traveling together to Worcester to see my grandma and her sister Dottie Launier. My hubby Baker especially liked to joke with her and say “we are going to Tupelo Aunt Barbara”. Love you much Aunt Barbara.
