Helen Audrey (Smith) Means was born the daughter of Arthur Fred Smith and Edna (Guy) Smith on March 2, 1942, in Thayer, Missouri and departed this life October 30, 2014, at Riverways Manor in Van Buren, Missouri at the age of 72 years.
She is survived by two brothers, Bill Smith and Kenneth Smith; and her dear friends and family at Riverways Manor in Van Buren, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Edna Smith.
Helen grew up in Thayer, Missouri and graduated with honors from Thayer High School with the class of 1960. While working in Springfield, Missouri, she attended Draughon’s Business College in Springfield, Missouri, graduating in the top 10 of her class. After graduation, she worked at Campbell Express in Springfield.
She loved listening to music and being in the presence of children, and enjoyed watching videos of different cultures, countries and people. She also liked bright colors, especially purple and red, wearing jewelry and hats, and eating chocolate.
She will truly be missed by her family and friends at Riverways Manor.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in the Walker Cemetery near Thayer, Missouri.
