    Charles Hubert Case the son of Gilbert and Cora Dunnings Case was born on May 17, 1937, in Myrtle, MO and passed away in Willow Springs on October 22, 2024, at the age of 87 years old.   Funeral services will be under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25th at United Freewill Baptist Church in West Plains, Missouri from 6-8 P.M. Services will be on Saturday, October 26th at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer at 10:00 A.M. Charles’ final resting place will be at Myrtle Cemetery in Myrtle, Missouri. 

    Charles was united in marriage to Irene Rutledge on May 18, 1957, and the union was blessed with three children.  He married Clara Jo Barton on July 22, 1988.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and both wives, two brothers Manual Case, and Don Case, sisters Dee Dickey, June Jones, Pat Kerr, Erma Honeycutt, and Betty Wrenfrow, sons-in-law Dwight Brawley, and Jerry Strain and great granddaughter Elsie Barton.

    He is survived by his children and 5 stepchildren. Charles (Chuck) Case, (Lou), West Plains, Cynthia Hall (Roger), Norfolk, AR, Charlene Ware, (Bruce), Doniphan, MO, Deborah Strain, DeWayne Barton, (Stacy), Donna Parrott, (Mike), Dean Barton (Chrisie) all of Willow Springs, and Darlene Wilson, (Jerry) West Plains, MO. 15 grandchildren, Brandon Tharp, Aslhey Garris, Scotty Case, Eric Case, Chad Parrott, Dustin Barton, Tyler Barton, Brendon Wilson, Keegan Wilson, Kim Barton, Allen Barton, Brittany Hebert, Katie Guidry, Dessie Moore, Shelby Barton, Hunter Barton, and Joshua Ipock and 20 great-grandchildren.  Two sisters Bessie York, Wanda Martin (Bill) and many nieces and nephews.

    Charles lived a life rich with adventure and purpose, dedicating himself to farming and spending countless hours in the great outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found joy in nature, often sharing those experiences with his children, grandchildren, and nephews. His love for hunting and fishing was complemented by his green thumb, as he nurtured his garden with care, sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. Those who knew him will fondly remember the bountiful harvests he brought to family gatherings, filling tables with fresh produce and love.

    Charles was not only a devoted grandfather, passionate outdoorsman, and gardener but also a faithful servant of God. His deep love for the Lord guided his life and actions, and he was honored to be ordained as a deacon in the Freewill Baptist Association and served the Clifton and Faith Chapel churches in this capacity. He lived his faith through kindness, generosity, and service to others, instilling strong values in his family and community.

    In his later years, he found joy in the laughter of his grandchildren, and the 2022 arrival of great-grandson Lyle brought him immense happiness. The anticipation of welcoming another great-grandson, Case, named in his honor, filled his heart with pride. His legacy will continue to thrive through the love and memories shared by his family.

    Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of his family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit, dedication to his family, and the lessons he imparted to each generation.

    In lieu of flowers the family requests monetary donations be made to the Gideons International.
