Alick Henry Combs

Alick Henry Combs was born in Myrtle, Missouri, the son of Lee Combs and Lueler Hand Combs on November 20, 1932 and departed this life on February 5, 2019 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 86 years.

He was united in marriage to Mary Hopper and to this union, two daughters were born. In later years, he was united in marriage to Connie Smith on June 9, 2011. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2018.

He is survived by his two daughters, Peggy Seiller and husband, Dave, of Wildwood, Missouri and Karen Earls and husband of Paragould, Arkansas; one grandson, Chase Seiller; two sisters, Vercie Hirsch of Koshkonong, Missouri and Lucille Hollaway and husband, Charles, of Couch, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Combs; his parents, Lee and Lueler Combs; one brother, Charlie Combs; and two sisters, Mary Lou Combs and Dorthy Godwin.
Alick was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving proudly during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Crysler Corporation as a machinery operator, retiring after many years of devoted service.

He loved to hunt and fish as often as possible. When he was younger, he loved to sing and play the guitar. He was also known for being a checker champion and nobody could beat him in a game.

Alick will be remembered as a loving and caring father, son and brother, and a friend to all. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Brother Charles Hollaway officiating.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 1:00 PM until service time.

Interment will be held at the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri following the service.

Arrangements are pending and under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
