Reva Elaine (Norman) Decker was born the daughter of Jessie Norman and Hallie (Stogsdill) Norman on January 13, 1924, in Alton, Missouri, and departed this life on April 15, 2016, at The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.
She was united in marriage on February 24, 1942, to Howard Golden Allen, who preceded her in death when he was killed in World War II.
She was united in marriage on April 6, 1946, at Salem, Arkansas, to Amon T.J. Decker, who preceded her in death on March 6, 2012.
She is survived by three children, Glen Dale Allen and wife, Mary of St. Peters, Missouri, Norma Johnson and husband, Bill of Springfield, Missouri, Danny Decker and wife, Brenda of Walnut Grove, Missouri; son-in-law, Charles Brown of Crestview, Florida; one sister, Freda Moore of Washington state; eight grandchildren, Jack Allen, Todd Allen, DeLisa Nuzum, Lori Slezak, Julie Johnson, Katrina Viau, Katrisha Simmons and Janice Fries; fourteen great grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Shilo, Amber, Rebecca, Latasha, Tiara, Christopher, Trey, Easton, Stormy, Victoria, Alexandria and Abigail; two great great grandchildren, Emma and Jeremiah; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Howard and Amon; one daughter, Marcia Brown; two sisters, Lois Wallace and Nerva Fanning; and two grandchildren, Pam and Dale Johnson.
Reva started her teaching career in a one room school at Ross in the Ozarks’ Irish Widerness. She later taught in the Thayer school district where she continued to mold the lives of many students.
She was a dedicated homemaker, an excellent cook and was well known for her delicious pies and other pastries.
Reva was a Christian and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She will truly be missed by all.
Graveside services for Mrs. Decker will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Cave Springs Cemetery at Alton, Missouri, with Rev. Arroll Simmons officiating.
