Jessie AlieneThompson was born the daughter of Cleo W. Johnson and Violet Brawley Johnson on July 23, 1932 at Alton, Missouri and departed this life May 15, 2011 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 78 years.

She was united in marriage September 5, 1949 in Hardy, Arkansas to Everett Boyd Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, Everett Boyd Thompson of the home in West Plains, Missouri; three children, Charella Lavene Reichardt and husband, John of St. Louis, Missouri, Deloria Kay Hendon of St. Charles, Missouri and Jonathan Lowell Thompson and wife, Donna of Arnold, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; six sisters, Audrey Thompson and husband, George of O’Fallon, Missouri, Betty Roberts and husband, Kenny of Alton, Missouri, Mabel Sheilds of Alton, Missouri, Frances Deckard of California, Elda Bassham and husband, Larry of Nixa, Missouri and Phyllis Johnson; one brother, Jerry Johnson and wife, Darlene of Alton, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Deloris Fay McCoy; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Johnson and one sister, Pat Terwilliger.

Aliene was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilts. She was of the Pentecostal faith and will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She will truly be missed by her family and her many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Brother Clarence Burton officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
